Sometimes as a network marketer the best people to talk to are people brand new to the industry. They are fresh and excited to embark on something new! At one point, just like me, you were once new to the industry of network marketing. If you are anything like me, as much as you loved your first mlm, felt as if you would be in that company forever, there is a pretty high chance you have been in multiple companies through your career. I say this because at times it is better to talk to people that are currently involved with a network marketing company.
img_0261-1Typically, someone already trying to build an mlm is already open to making more money, meeting new people, buying products, etc. They also tend to be less likely to use certain objections like, “Is this a pyramid scheme?” Or “Do I have to talk to my friends?” You may be asking where do I find people to talk to in other network marketing companies?” There are plenty of places to find them, one you may see daily is car decals!

4 Steps To Effective MLM Calls!

  1. Make A New Friend – The initial phone call is just to test the waters. I want to find a common ground with the person, get to a place where they know you have been through the same hurdles as a marketer. Most network marketers think they are the only ones going through the battles of business. My goal is NOT to make a sale or enroll them into my mlm on this call. My intent with call is to gauge the type of person I am on the phone with. I am gauging one main thing on this call: “OPENNESS” My goal is to determine how open my prospect is, or really if this person is EVEN a prospect at all. If I determine that its a good person to connect with I max out this call at 30 minutes TOPS.
  2. Dig For Information – One thing you want to be aware of moving to this step is your motive. Your intent can not be to switch them with cunning techniques to enroll in your mlm. Your job is to dig for information so you can determine what is the best fit for them and their situation. There may not be anything you can do for them and thats ok too! Ask good open ended questions to find out more about their experience and skill level inside of the industry. Be sure to note the questions I ask while listening to the recorded call. The quality of your questions, will greatly determine the quality of your interactions with prospects!
  3. Search For A Problem– Everyone that has every spent anytime building a network marketing company has struggled with something. Your job during this call is find out what that particular thing is! Now I must state, again, if they tell you a problem, do not rush to help them solve it. Take time to slowly open the wound more. My goal is to have the prospect beg me for a solution and it may not be on this particular engagement. Often times the first call will lead to offering a free blog post, article, Facebook video, in exchange for an email address or second engagement date.
  4. Have more than One Offer/Service – This is the MOST important factor going into your call when doing this technique! Most people only have one offer (their mlm) this is usually where the call goes south. When you only have ONE OFFER (your mlm) the motive of the phone call shifts to you knowing the ONLY way you can help them or make any money is to enroll them into your mlm. 8/10 times you do this the prospect is more focused on growing their current business. Although we have our own mlm with thousands of reps in our organization its great to have things like Affiliate Offers that can help others grow their business. The only time its ok to offer your mlm as a solution is if you determine they are not happy or open to looking at something new. Typically when someone is not happy with leadership, or the community they are a part of is where you will find people ready to look at something new!
